Museums at Sylt

Here we would like to introduce you to some interesting museums that you should visit during your stay with us. You are also welcome to contact our team for more information.

Grave mounds and megalithic graves

To be a treasure hunter and to stand on the dunes with a shovel like in the 18th century and challenge the legends - a dream that surely everyone has had before. Since Sylt was a very popular destination of grave robbers and treasure hunters in the 18th century, we can no longer promise you success today.

But we can show you how the deceased loved ones were lodged luxuriously (for that time) in the so-called burial mounds and megalithic tombs.

The megalithic tomb of Denghoog is a place where you can still feel the mysticism of legends today.

Kampener bird bunk

A true Sylt original is the duck-fishing facility between Kampen and List. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the sweet little swimmers were still caught here, but then the region was very quickly declared a nature reserve.

Today you can visit the beautiful buildings with an exhibition of the island's cultural history and walk along a nature trail through the alder forest.

Tip: By the way, you have a fantastic view over the Wadden Sea from here.
