Natural Forces Adventure Centre

There the wind breaks again around your ears, from the dunes you observe the tides of the Wadden Sea and wonder which (secret) forces the North Sea probably possesses.

The Natural Forces Adventure Centre in List will inform you about all this. But don't worry, this is not a dry museum, just by reading the signs on the side of the exhibits.

It is unbelievable what you are offered here! Because you are allowed to participate, try and touch. For example, you can let the dunes of the island wander in a period of the last 9 years by means of a rotating wheel. It is remarkable how nature plays with us.

The centre is divided into three different thematic areas:

• "Climate, weather and climate research "- Here you will be shown the changes from the perspective of an astronaut.

• "Living with the forces of nature "- It's strange what strategies animals and plants have developed for protection, in the mudflat tunnel you can see for example how mussels and crustaceans defend themselves against the tides.

• "North Sea forces "- contemporary witnesses tell you about the worst storm surges and a model explains the influence of the sun on all this.

We agree that the Natural Forces Adventure Centre offers you an exhibition that will take your breath away.
